The Best Moments of My Life
I have been involved with Ananda for about 7 years. I initially went to take Meditation I and kept going, becoming a church member and a Kriyaban. Ananda has become a big part of my life, and I’m very grateful to my husband for suggesting we go to that first class.
After we had been going for awhile and became more familiar with what was happening we started hearing about the lawsuits. We gradually learned that SRF has been suing Ananda for years and lost all the issues.
There was also the Bertolucci lawsuit which was a direct attack on Kriyananda. I don’t know Kriyananda personally. When I started going to Ananda he was living in Nevada City and now he lives in Italy. I have heard him speak a few times in person and have been introduced to him. I have, however, read his books, listened to many tapes of talks and classes he has given, and, have listened over and over to his music. What he has accomplished in his lifetime amazes me. My visits to Ananda Village, the community he founded, have been some of the best moments of my life.
I do not say this lightly. I am 61 years old. I have been to many churches and worked in many places. I was a teacher in public schools, I have worked as a secretary in a CPA firm and in a law firm. I have raised two daughters. In other words, I have had a lot of varied life experience. And in all my life, I have never have I met a more wonderful group of people than at Ananda.
Many of these people, whom I do know personally, and respect so much, have known and worked with Kriyananda for years. And they respect him greatly. Many of them are women. Many of these women are leaders in Ananda. When you add it all up, there is just no way that the charges brought in the Bertolluci lawsuit could be true. That lawsuit says women at Ananda are oppressed. It’s ridiculous. Also, it is obvious, that Kriyananda could not possibly be the kind of man the Bertolucci lawsuit says he is or these women wouldn’t be here.
I understand that lots of the people in the Bertolucci lawsuit are also part of SRF. That explains it all. SRF has been trying to beat Ananda for a long time. This is a very underhanded way to try to pull Ananda down.
I feel so blessed to have Ananda in my life leading the way for me with so much inspiration. Autobiography of a Yogi has become my favorite book, and I have read it many times. Yogananda’s chants and Kriyananda’s chants are in tapes in my car. All I listen to on my commute to work are tapes from Ananda from classes, Sunday service and chants. Thank you God for leading me to Ananda.
